A (Very) Brief History

Mad Angel Films was started in 2007 as the first division of Kyomatt Entertainment Inc. It's goal was simple: entertain the masses. Over time, and six feature films later, it has evolved into a much more complex entity with a broader goal: showcase the talent in the general Utica area. This company is ultra-low-budget film making at its finest.

Feature Film Production

Mad Angel Films has produced six feature films: Brackish, The Abandoned, Star-Cross'd, Seize the Day, Three Days in the Woods, and De Profundis. Each film showcases the talent and scenery of the greater Utica area and we take pride in that fact. All of our music is originally composed and performed by local artists and all of our locations are easily recognizable by the Utica native.

Cast and Crew

Over the years we have had the pleasure of working with over 250 different people and businesses (the names of which are listed in the credits pages of all our films). These talented people are the backbone of our company. Each one of them contributes huge amounts of time and effort to making each film a cinematic success. We hold auditions periodically before each film to determine roles and have ongoing relationships with many of our actors.

Governance

Mad Angel Films is primarily run by president Matthew A. Peters under the governance of his executive board. The board meets periodically to decide issues of great importance. The current executive board consists of the following members, each of whom have their own parts to play.

  • Matthew A. Peters, President
  • Jason A. Covey, CEO/Secretary/Treasurer
  • Melissa A. Seelman, VP & Creative Director
  • Rachel Powers, VP of Cast & Crew
  • Rich Fortuna, VP of Music
  • Larry Cicigline, VP of Governmental Affairs
  • Rachel Reeves, VP of Promotions
