This time around I sat down with Ryan Connolly of the podcast Film Riot.
Before we get started why don't you tell us a bit about Film Riot and Triune Films. Triune Films is an independent production company I started in 2005. I started it because I had no interest in going to Hollywood and becoming just another face in a crowd of people trying to do the same thing I am. I figured it would be best to start my only little Hollywood in my home town (South Florida). So now I make all the decisions, and only do the project I want to do. It's good stuff.
1) When will we be going to Full Sail in the podcast?
Very soon. It is just a matter of syncing up my schedule with theirs. They are all good people over there, so I am really excited for when we finally get to jump over to them. 2) I know someone who says that shorts are pointless and a huge waste of time. What do you have to say to that? Those people don't get the show. Film Riot is a mixture of entrainment and tutorial. If you want pure tutorial just go to youtube and you will find hundreds of tutorials that are great to learn, but have no entertainment value. That is not what I wanted to do. Plus, to all those people I say... If you don't like it... Don't watch. :) 3) Will we ever see PMS the Movie as a movie and not just a trailer?
I haven't ruled it out. But, the trailer would have to become really viral for me to go through with it.
4) What question do you get asked the most about filming?
Probably how to get the 'film look'. When I was just starting out that was my big question as well. I've already touched on a few things that get the look, but I will be diving in a lot more later in the series. 5) What made you want to get into the film biz?
I had a passion for story telling and entertaining from a very young age. I started making my own short films when I was about 7 years old. The idea of creating an entire world from scratch and giving people a place to escape from the crap of the world to, has always been a big thing for me. There is nothing better. 6) If your girlfriend loves video games why is she still just a girlfriend?
I'm working on that one. :) 7) I feel that both Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf* *need to stop making movies. Are you with me on that one? Haha. I actually like Shia Labeouf, he's a good actor with a lot of potential to become great... Megan Fox on the other hand... Well, I think that everything is a matter of taste, and apparently a lot of people like them and their movies... So more power to them
8) I both enjoy Film Riot and think that it's to short per ep. Any chance that you will be making eps longer?
Currently Triune Films is working on two short films - (Including TELL, which Film Riot will follow the making of) and I have started the scripting faze on our first feature. Being how the show is weekly and typically needs a lot of post work... To make the episodes any longer right now would be to compromise on quality, and that is not something I would do. But we'll see what happens in the future. 9) I use to live in South Florida. I'm guessing the main area that you film in is the Palm Beach area. Am I right or way off?
You are correct sir. 10) How much time does it take to get good at editing?
I guess it would depend on the person and how often they are practicing. But I would say to become proficient at it, you would need to work hard for a few years. 3 Random Questions 1) What's better a long dick or a thick dick? ( He did not answer this. He just left it blank) 2) Where would you hide a dead body?
The cemetery 3) Will the Phins have a winning season this year? I don't really watch sports... Don't hate me. You can find out more about what Ryan Connolly is up to by going to:
