The Unborn Genre: Horror Runtime:87mins Rating:Pg-13 Entertainment Score:2/10 Tech Score:5.8/10 IMDB Score:4.5/10 (6900+ votes)
Summary from IMDB: A young woman fights the spirit that is slowly taking possession of her.
From me: A horror that is just HORRORbale, very very very little gore. No real shocks, all the "scares" come from loud noises. Typical big budget horror flick.
Audio: 10/10. Crisp and clear. Can not even remember any of songs on the soundtrack and I watched it less than 24hrs ago. Do recall some "scary" music.
Visuals: 6/10. A creepy looking ghost kid in pale make up is pretty much all the visuals you will see. There are a few bugs coming out of things and one or two oddly shaped "humans" but beyond that this not a visual movie by any means, its more of an audiotory movie.
Writing: 2/10. If this is what passes for good in Hollywood, you will be seeing my name on the big screen within the next three years. The only thing I really liked about the writing was the dybbuk but they did not go deep enough with it. It was slow paced til about the 50mins mark.
Acting: 3/10. Get rid of the main chick then the acting would have been good. Everything was a big deal to here. I truly felt this was her 1st flick but no she has been in 17 projects since the 90s. If she did not look so good in those white cotton panties that she wares in the movie I would have seen more of her bad acting but when she wore those I was focused on her bum. The rest of the cast is compriesed of good actors like:Gary Oldman,Idris Elba and Carla Gugino. Plus others who I really don't know.
Dir/Ed 8/10. Well shot, good use of a study cam. No shots lasted longer than they should have nor were they to short. You can tell that these people took the time to see what shots would look good and what would not. Some of the angles were a bit iffy but over all good.
Bottom line: If I ever find out you bought this and liked it, I will have to sit you down and show you some truly great horror movies. Stay away from this by all means.
